Summer in Costa Blanca is beautiful. It consists of around 125 Miles of Mediterranean coastline and includes the popular resorts of Gandia, Javea and Denia. Costa Blanca is home to one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations, Benidorm.

Summer is Costa Blanca is what you would expect, lots of sun and very little rain. Summer temperatures generally reach at least 30ºC but sometimes climb as high as 40ºC and even in the evenings they don’t fall very much. It has been quoted by the World Health Organisation as being one of the healthiest climates in the world with more than 300 days of sunshine per year!

To the North, a curtain of mountains runs parallel to the sea, descending at times to form cliffs, and to the South, a vast plain of sand patches, palm trees and salt deposits make up the backdrop for the beaches. From the valleys, which are covered with stepped orchards, to the palm trees of African origin, the horizons of the Costa Blanca offer the most varied attractions.

Hours of sun in summer range from 8 in May, to 11 in June and July, with sea temperatures in Benidorm reaching 25°C in August, perfect conditions for a swim!

Calpe

At the heart of the Costa Blanca, within the region of Valencia lies the ancient fishing village of Calpe. Now transformed into a tourist magnet, the town sits in an ideal location, its approximately one hour drive from the airport at Alicante.

Calpe has a wonderful mixture of old Valencian culture and modern tourist facilities. It is a great base from which to explore the local area or enjoy the many local beaches. Calpe alone has three of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the coast.
