Denia Gastronomic Festival
The first edition of the Gastronomic Denia Festival, to start on 30th September and 1st October at La Playa de La Marineta Cassiana (Denia), will bring together chefs from seventeen Creative Cities of UNESCO’s Gastronomy.
The Creative Cities of UNESCO Gastronomy that will meet at this meeting are: Tucson (United States), Tsuruoka (Japan), Chengdu, Shunde and Macau (China), Jeonju (South Korea), Rasht Zahlé (Lebanon), Gaziantep (Turkey), Ensenada (Mexico), Popayán (Colombia), Belem and Florianópolis (Brazil), Phuket (Thailand), Parma (Italy), Ostersund (Sweden) and Bergen (Norway).
In this first call, the renowned chef Quique Dacosta (Quique Dacosta Restaurant, 3 Michelin stars) will act as gastronomic commissioner. As regards the representation of Spanish cuisine will be the chefs Joan Roca (El Celler Can Roca), Angel Leon (Aponiente), Jordi Cruz (ABaC) and Andoni Luis Aduriz (Mugaritz).
With respect to international representation, chefs will attend: Travis Peters (The Parish, United States), Diego Hernández (Corazón de Tierra, Mexico), Enrico Bergonzi (Al Vèdel, Italy), Angela Sicilia (Famiglia Sicilia, others. Likewise, producers and restaurateurs from Denia and the region will be present to exhibit traditional and characteristic products of the gastronomy of the region.
The Paseo de la Marineta Cassiana will host this gastronomic meeting and will be able to offer different spaces in which a wide program of activities will be developed: showcookings, exhibition of traditional products, stalls, food trucks, debates, workshops and live music. Denia Gastronomic Festival is organized by the City of Denia and the Valencian Tourism Agency.
